Position: CLINICAL NURSE EDUCATOR
SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering educational programs for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance. This role will oversee new hire orientation to the floor, ongoing clinical skills training, continuing education, annual competencies, as well as providing targeted education based on performance improvement needs, survey outcomes, and regulatory updates.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Development, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for new clinical staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Provide consistent and standardized in-services for all clinical staff, in accordance with CMS, OSHA, and state regulations.
  • Maintain and update training materials to reflect evidence-based best practices, new clinical guidelines, and regulatory changes.
  • Coordinate and document annual mandatory training for all nursing staff.
  • Conduct hands-on skills evaluations for RNs, LPNs and CNAs.
  • Maintain records of competencies, in-services, and education attendance per regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and QA/QAPI committee to identify education needs based on audits, incident reports, and survey findings.
  • Ensure all in-services and competencies meet Tennessee Board of Nursing requirements and federal CMS guidelines.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff.
  • Mentor new nurses and CNAs;
    Foster a positive learning environment.
  • Consistently presents a professional appearance by wearing clean uniform, shoes, name tag, no excessive jewelry, and short, clean fingernails.
  • Report for work on time, as scheduled.
  • Be knowledgeable of Trezevant's Mission, vision and values.
  • Other duties as assigned/ required.
Qualifications:
  • Current nursing license in Tennessee or compact state (RN preferred).
  • 3+ years of LTC/SNF nursing experience (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of LTC regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft office and Excel.
