Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience.

• Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center
• Medical/Surgical unit
• Team nursing ratios (details discussed with manager during interview)
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36- or 48-hour workweeks available
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles is possible, though rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; RTO requests made after an offer is extended will not be submitted for approval and must be arranged directly with the manager or scheduler
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, candidates must be willing to work at least 1
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a travel nurse
• Candidates previously employed by the facility should confirm rehire eligibility prior to applying
• If any certifications are set to expire during the assignment, a renewal plan should be prepared

• Active TN or Compact RN license required — no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel nursing assignment required — first-time travelers are not eligible
• ADN or higher required for this position
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
