Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and at least one completed prior travel assignment.
Responsibilities- Short-term acute care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center designation
- Emergency Department (ER) setting
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- On-call required as needed
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles; cross-campus floating is rare
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Large hospital experience preferred
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO will not be honored if not included at initial consideration
- Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must be willing to work at least 1
- Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- An ADN degree is accepted for this position
- Weekend block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Active RN license in Tennessee or a valid Compact (NLC) license — no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2+ years of recent ER experience (strictly enforced); 3+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma experience required
- At least one completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted (exception may be made for candidates with 3+ years of recent ER experience)
- Current BLS certification required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Willingness to work 48-hour weeks as needed
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
