American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring Level I Trauma and travel experience with a TN or compact RN license.

• Work in the Stepdown/Med Surg Overflow unit of a large acute care hospital
• Level I Trauma Center environment caring for high acuity patients
• Typical patient ratio is 1:6 or 1:7
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00); 36 or 48 hour weeks available, exact schedule determined during interview
• Weekend and on‑call coverage required as needed
• Floating may occur between like units and rarely between campuses within 20 miles
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Provide specialized nursing care to high acuity Stepdown patients, frequently in a trauma setting
• Must be willing to work required holidays; if assignment overlaps with Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s, must work 2 of 3 holidays
• Previous employees must have at least one year separation before returning as travelers
• RTO (requested time off) must be included in initial consideration; no approval after offer
• Hospital dress code applies
• Vaccine status must be provided prior to consideration

• Active TN or compact RN license in hand; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown or like‑setting RN experience required; 3 years preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; no first‑time travelers accepted
• Experience in large hospital settings required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Must meet NLC guidelines for multistate licensure compliance
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
