Position: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

Chief Nursing Officer Opportunity

Lakeside Behavioral Health System is a 345‑bed behavioral health facility located on a 37‑acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. The organization provides comprehensive programs for disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, mental illnesses and addictive disease disorders.

Responsibilities

The Chief Nursing Officer is a key member of the Lakeside Senior Leadership Team. The CNO will integrate and coordinate a patient‑centric nursing strategy, ensuring delivery of high‑quality and cost‑effective health care consistent with UHS mission, vision and values, and regulatory requirements. The CNO participates in strategic planning, contributes to institutional goals, supports over 250 FTEs, and focuses on five key areas:
People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance.

Qualifications
  • Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of TN
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited program;
    Master of Science in Nursing preferred in first year
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management
  • Extensive knowledge of nursing and patient‑care principles and practices
  • Demonstrated effective management and supervisory skills with strong written and verbal communication
  • Five or more years of progressive nursing management experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor activities with demonstrated leadership that contributes to a positive work environment
