VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. Job DescriptionAs a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with our customers’ clinical teams to resolve venous access issues and facilitate treatment objectives. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting, giving you a unique opportunity to observe different protocols and patient challenges.
Responsibilities- Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance
- Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
- Assist with management of PICCs and vascular access devices
- Provide a wide range of vascular access support services, including port access, line removal, and declotting
- Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines, and other catheter‑related venous access devices
The role requires visiting patients at various customer facilities. Full‑time scheduling includes three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in a holiday rotation.
Location & CoverageThis role primarily covers the Memphis and Jackson area, with 1–2 days per week supporting patients in each location.
Training and Experience Requirements- Experienced in ultrasound‑guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions
- Training available for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience
- Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses; additional training available for those with strong USGIV skills
- Registered Nurse with a current license
- American Heart BLS Certification
- Experience in vascular access device (VAD) management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience placing ultrasound‑guided IVs (USGIVs)
- Ability to work independently and fulfill the scheduling requirements articulated here
- Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
- Must possess a smartphone
- Minimum three years of acute‑care RN experience
- Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
- Prior vascular access or PICC experience is preferred
Hourly Pay Range: $40 – $60 USD, based on experience and certifications.
