Position: School Nurse - Registered Nurse (RN)
School Nurse / Registered Nurse (RN)

Hourly Rate: $24.00 – $29.00 per hour

Location: Memphis, Tennessee;
Onsite Position Summary

As a School Nurse / Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide essential healthcare services to students within the Memphis-Shelby County School District. This role supports student health and wellness by providing direct nursing care, managing chronic medical conditions, responding to health emergencies, and collaborating with school staff and families to promote a safe and healthy learning environment. Responsibilities Schedule / Shift
  • Shift details:
    Monday–Friday, rotating school assignments
  • Hours per week:
    Full time
  • Contract length:
    School-based assignment
Key Duties
  • Provide first aid and emergency nursing care to students during the school day
  • Administer medications and support students with chronic health conditions including asthma and diabetes
  • Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate student health documentation
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to support student wellness and safety
  • Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school environment
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and additional duties as assigned
  • Support a safe and inclusive educational environment for all students
Requirements Education
  • Required:

    Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required:

    Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license
Skills
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple school assignments
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency and high-pressure situations
