This Registered Nurse position focuses on delivering high-quality wound care treatment to patients in an inpatient unit within a large, acute care hospital. The nurse monitors patient progress, performs comprehensive clinical assessments, and ensures accurate documentation in the medical record. This role requires strong clinical competency, particularly in wound care, and the ability to provide safe, compassionate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as required by the unit.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive wound care treatment to patients in the assigned unit, following established clinical protocols and best practices.
* Assess patients' conditions through thorough clinical evaluations, including performing vital sign checks and ongoing monitoring.
* Review and maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and electronic health records for all assigned patients.
* Report patient progress and unit updates to the appropriate board or leadership team on a weekly basis.
* Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as required by the specialty assignment.
* Maintain clinical competency by applying current nursing standards and participating in ongoing professional development.
* Perform verbal assessments and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team regarding treatment plans and care needs.
* Support oncology and general patient care needs as appropriate to the unit's patient population.
* Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
* Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to patient care, documentation, and safety.
Essential Skills
* Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with eligibility to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
* Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Master of Science (M.S.) in Nursing required.
* Graduate of an approved nursing school or program.
* Qualified by education, training, or experience to work with adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient populations as required by specialty assignment.
* At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
* Demonstrated wound care experience in a clinical setting.
* Strong clinical nursing skills, including vital sign assessment and patient monitoring.
* Experience with oncology nursing or oncology patient care.
* Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and accurate medical record documentation.
* Effective verbal assessment and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
* Ability to maintain clinical competency and apply evidence-based nursing practice.

* Experience in a high-acuity or trauma center environment is beneficial.
* Experience in patient care across multiple age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
* Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
* Comfort working within oncology settings and managing complex patient needs.
* Willingness to work on a contract basis in 13-week increments within a 6-month engagement structure.
Work Environment
This role is based in a large hospital, providing exposure to a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment. Nurses care for diverse patient populations, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, and may support oncology and other specialty services as needed. The position is offered as a contract role structured in 13-week increments over a 6-month period, which may involve rotating schedules depending on unit needs.
The hospital uses electronic health record systems, and nurses are expected to document care accurately and efficiently. The environment emphasizes teamwork, adherence to clinical standards, and a strong focus on patient safety and quality of care.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
