Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical​/Tele

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting within a Level I Trauma Center. Ensures patient safety, advocates for quality care, and collaborates with the healthcare team to meet individualized patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans adhering to hospital protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient information meticulously in electronic health records, including Cerner if applicable.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies, including trauma and critical incidents, following trauma protocols.
• Float between similar units and campuses within 20 miles as needed, in accordance with policy.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in the state or a valid compact license.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing.
• Demonstrate experience in a Level I Trauma Hospital or similar large hospital environment.
• Possess BLS certification; certifications must be current and renewals planned if expiring during assignment.
• Be able to work 4x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 to 19:00.
• Able to work holidays, including at least 1 during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's period if they fall during assignment.
