Position: East Memphis Urology (UroCenter) - PRN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Overview

PRN CRNA Position: $160/Hour Flexible PRN Scheduling

Life Linc Anesthesia is seeking an experienced PRN CRNA to join our team at East Memphis Urology in Memphis, TN. This position offers a Monday – Friday schedule and the ability to practice in an autonomous yet highly collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional, cost-effective anesthesia care.

Facility: East Memphis Urology (Uro Center)

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7am to 3pm and some Fridays 7am to 3pm, as needed.

Case Mix: Urology Only

Malpractice Professional Liability: Covered by Life Linc.

Responsibilities

Administrative Duties

  • The CRNA must function as a collaborator and team member to accomplish applicable goals and functions of Life Linc.
  • Develop standards for continuity of care and case management.
  • Remain cognizant of rules and regulation as they pertain to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and remain compliant at a local, state, and federal level.

Clinical Duties

The CRNA scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Perform and document a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies; selecting, obtaining, ordering, or administering pre-anesthetic medications and fluids; and obtaining informed consent for anesthesia.
  • Perform conscious sedation/MAC anesthesia on outpatient and inpatient cases.
  • Manage a patient's airway.
  • Manage emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
  • Release or discharge patients from a post-anesthesia care area, and provide post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care related to anesthesia side effects or complications.
  • Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
  • Additional nurse anesthesia responsibilities within the expertise of the individual CRNA.

Communication

  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Work with peers to obtain required information on a timely basis and solve outstanding issues, as appropriate.
  • Promote and contribute positively to teamwork by assisting coworkers, contributing ideas, and problem-solving with co-workers.

Language Skills

  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, patients, patient's family, and other employees of organization.
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment.

Computer Skills

  • General computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are required.

HIPAA

  • Ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and hospital policy and procedure regarding confidentiality.
  • Complies with all information security practices.
  • Takes annual HIPAA compliance exam.
Qualifications

Education and experience equivalent to:

The Nurse Anesthetist shall be a Graduate of an approved school of nursing and a graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. The CRNA must have successfully completed the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Certification or its predecessor's.

Additional Qualifications

  • At least two years of independent experience.
  • ACLS/BLS/PALS certification.
