Wound Care Nurse

Tri Star Hendersonville Medical Center invites applications for the role of Certified Wound Care / Ostomy Registered Nurse.

The certified wound care ostomy registered nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

• Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
• Identify nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient.
• Plan individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Provide care and coordinate participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement.
• Work collaboratively with the burn and wound team.
• Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff.
• Serve as a role model and clinical resource for the team.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments on wound and ostomy patients.
• Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physicians, staff or patient issues.
• Participate in quality improvement practices to maintain the highest level of patient care.
• Monitor patients during their inpatient stay and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
• Document plan of care and patient progress in the EMR.
• Help to ensure safe and effective operation of the inpatient wound care program.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Wound Care certification.
• Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
