Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. She utilizes therapeutic communication, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, and identifies nursing problems aligned with each patient's needs. The RN plans individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach, participates in performance improvement activities, and coordinates care that supports the hospital’s mission and vision. In a charge nurse capacity, the RN oversees day‑to‑day operations, assigns staff based on acuity, serves as a clinical resource, and responds promptly to requests for information or follow‑up with physicians, staff, and patients.
WhatYou Will Do
- Assess plans and evaluate the patient’s care needs, carrying out physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Record and communicate patient condition, using computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.
- Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing school.
- Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support certificate.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within six months of hire.
- Preferred:
One year of clinical nursing experience.
