Pediatric Oncology Nurse II: Kay Weekender

Position Summary

Kay 4 supports patients with hematology disorders, leukemia, and lymphoma disease e Children's Research Hospital. As a clinical professional, you will provide bedside care and participate in protocol enrollments that revolutionize treatment for hematology and leukemia/lymphoma patients.

Weekend position – Saturday and Sunday only, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Provide high-quality nursing care on a 17‑bed unit with small nurse‑to‑patient ratios. Participate in current protocol enrollments and deliver age‑appropriate care along with education and support to patients and families.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

• BSN with 18 months of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in St. Jude or other RN settings required.
• Intermediate pediatric assessment, critical thinking, and pain assessment skills.
• Experience in pediatric or oncology nursing.
• Working knowledge of research protocols.
• Understanding of growth and development principles for all ages.
• Strong clinical nursing, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
• Proven performance in prior role.

• State nursing license required (Tennessee or compact state). RN‑TN for primary Tennessee residency; RN‑ARK or RN‑MISS for compact states.
• Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON) preferred.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.

Estimated hourly range: $31.50 – $55.00 for the role of Pediatric Oncology Nurse II:
Kay4 Weekender.
