Job Summary
A Pediatric Oncology Nurse will serve as the primary care coordinator for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Clinic, managing patient care throughout the continuum of care e Children’s Research Hospital.
Responsibilities- Provide interdisciplinary patient care through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Coordinate patient and family advocacy, communications, and care activities across the health care team.
- Deliver high-quality patient care, addressing physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
- Delegate and supervise delegated tasks within the team.
- Participate in research protocols and care documentation.
- Manage shift schedule (M-F 7‑5, 10‑hour shifts) with rotating off‑day, holiday, and minimum weekend requirements.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and completion of at least 18 months of clinical nursing experience.
- Current RN license in the state of primary residence;
Tennessee license required if residing in Tennessee. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. - Experience in pediatric or oncology nursing and intermediate pediatric assessment skills.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric growth and development, pain assessment, and patient education.
- Proficiency in research protocol implementation and documentation.
- Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non‑Compact state.
- Must possess a current state board license in a Nurse Licensure Compact state if primary residence is in that state.
- Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON) preferred;
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
Estimated salary range: $31.50 – $55.00 per hour for the Pediatric Oncology Nurse I:
Leukemia/Lymphoma Clinic.
