Labor and Delivery Rn
Labor and Delivery RN provides comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Post Partum, and Mother/Baby services, while supporting Med Surg needs when OB volume is low. This role includes occasional nursery responsibilities, postpartum assessment, and readiness to float to Med Surg based on unit demand.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care for laboring patients from admission through delivery and postpartum transitions.
- Monitor fetal status using continuous fetal monitoring and respond promptly to changing conditions.
- Provide postpartum and mother/baby care, including patient education and coordination of ongoing needs.
- Assist with nursery care to support newborn safety, observation, and parent support activities.
- Float to Med Surg as needed to support admissions, basic inpatient care, and unit workflow.
Qualifications:
- Hold active RN licensure with compact eligibility as required for assignment.
- Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an RN.
- Demonstrate competency in labor/delivery nursing, postpartum care, and fetal monitoring practices.
- Show willingness and adaptability to cross-train support roles, including nursery and Med Surg coverage.
