Charge Nurse/ Team Leader

The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in the United States. We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Lakeside's comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illnesses and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.
The Charge Nurse/ Team Leader supervises the delivery of nursing care provided by staff on a designated unit. Care is provided in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health System. The Charge Nurse/ Team Leader coordinates and delegates care utilizing the nursing process. The Charge Nurse is responsible for nursing care activities on a shift basis and for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.

Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. - Experience:
One to three years prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred. - Licensure/Certification:
Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. - Knowledge:
Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training.
