The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States. We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Lakeside's comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.

The Director of Nursing has 24 hour a day seven day a week responsibility for treatment services provided for inpatient programs. The Director of Nursing promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree in nursing required, MSN preferred.

Experience:

Prefer 5 years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population, 3 years previous clinical supervisory role in an inpatient psychiatric setting and administrative/ management experience.

Licensure/Certification:
Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, American Nursing Association Psychiatric Mental Health Certificate preferred.

Knowledge:
Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.
