Job Title: Quality Engineer I

Location: Memphis, TN
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $40.00/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: 6-Month Contract

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer I will support quality processes, inspection methods, documentation, and compliance within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Quality Control, Manufacturing, Product Development, Metrology, and Supplier teams to support daily production, quality initiatives, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Support receiving, in-process, final inspection, and operator self-inspection processes.
  • Assist with gauges, fixtures, optical comparator overlays, templates, and inspection tools.
  • Train production associates on inspection, measuring, and testing methods.
  • Perform first article inspections, capability studies, process validations, and material evaluations.
  • Support NCRs, material dispositions, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Compile, trend, and analyze quality data for internal teams and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and applicable medical device regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering/Technical field required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, or a technical role preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, and Minitab preferred.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, process validation, NCRs, or inspection methods preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tulip, Jira, Agile, ASQ CQE, or Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
