Job Title: Quality Engineer I

Location: Memphis, TN
Pay Rate: $35.00 - $40.00/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: 6-Month Contract

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer I will support quality processes, inspection methods, documentation, and compliance within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Quality Control, Manufacturing, Product Development, Metrology, and Supplier teams to support daily production, quality initiatives, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and update inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
Support receiving, in-process, final inspection, and operator self-inspection processes.
Assist with gauges, fixtures, optical comparator overlays, templates, and inspection tools.
Train production associates on inspection, measuring, and testing methods.
Perform first article inspections, capability studies, process validations, and material evaluations.
Support NCRs, material dispositions, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
Compile, trend, and analyze quality data for internal teams and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and applicable medical device regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering/Technical field required.
0-2 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, or a technical role preferred.
Experience in a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, and Minitab preferred.
Experience with statistical analysis, process validation, NCRs, or inspection methods preferred.
Familiarity with Tulip, Jira, Agile, ASQ CQE, or Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
