Description

A Quality Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that the product meets quality standards for our customers.
Requirements- Understand basic aspects of engineering drawings- length, width, bend angle, revision level, title block
- Familiar with the use of calipers, micrometers, and tape measure
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel
- Communicate effectively (written & verbal) with team members and cross functional groups
- Determine weld defects using visual inspection
- Create NCP in QT9 without being told
- Able to pull drawings in Vault
- Access documents in QT9- document portal
- Work independently with minimal direction from others. This individual will also be responsible for the training of entry level Quality Inspectors (Quality Inspector I) as needed
- Able to communicate effectively (written & verbal) with SQE’s when needed
- Able to interpret weld spacing call outs
- Able to accurately markup a drawing
- Able to enter scrap in ABAS
- Able to transfer parts in ABAS
- Able to quarantine suspect product by checking stock level and working with inventory
- Be familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Able to demonstrate the following leadership skills:
- Able and willing to train and mentor class I and class II Quality Inspectors
- Able and willing to set the work pace
- Have positive attitude everyday as defined by leadership and peers
- NCP’s must be clear, concise and include all pertinent information- pictures of defect and highlighted print of defect- anyone should be able to determine the defect based on the information in the NCP
- Able to interpret all aspects of drawings- sectional view, BOM breakdown, models
- Able to fill out First Article Inspection forms
- Able to complete EASE audits
- Able to verify torque with DTC wrench
- A Quality Inspector must also be able to demonstrate Quality skills in other departments as well.
