Quality Inspector

Location: Memphis, TN

Pay Rate: $17.06 - $30.72 per hour

12-Hour Shift Pay Rate: $19.62 - $35.33 per hour

We are seeking detail-oriented Quality Inspectors to join a world-class manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring products meet quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements through inspection, testing, documentation, and process verification. Position Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections and audits of materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products throughout the manufacturing process. This position works closely with production teams to identify quality concerns, support corrective actions, and ensure compliance with established quality systems, customer specifications, and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on products and materials.

  • Review and verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements.

  • Utilize inspection tools and equipment including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other precision measuring devices.

  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming materials or product defects.

  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.

  • Perform audits of manufacturing processes, workstations, and production records.

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.

  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to resolve quality issues and improve processes.

  • Monitor compliance with quality procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve product quality and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following established safety procedures.

  • Support customer satisfaction through consistent application of quality standards and expectations.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum one (1) year of quality inspection, manufacturing, production, or related experience preferred.

  • Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment required.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection methods preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and documentation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to changing production schedules as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions during 10 to 12-hour shifts.

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to safely perform inspections in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to distinguish colors, read measurements, and identify product defects.

Required PPE
  • Steel-toed shoes

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
