The Memphis, Tennessee facility has an exciting opportunity for a
** Health & Safety Specialist**. This role supports environmental, health, and safety compliance and performance across the Memphis site, including four manufacturing units and a wastewater pH treatment facility. The Health & Safety Specialist helps manage environmental and operational risks while supporting the site's commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance and its license to operate. This position serves as a key resource for interpreting regulations, implementing compliance programs, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering with operations and leadership teams to strengthen environmental, health, and safety performance.
The role collaborates with both local and corporate teams to ensure management systems remain effective and support the continued growth of the site.
** Where You'll Make a Difference
*** Provide guidance, consultation, and support to site leadership and operations teams on environmental, health, and safety management programs and compliance requirements.
* Support the site's commitment to achieving zero occupational injuries and illnesses through proactive risk identification and prevention initiatives.
* Interpret and communicate applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and support their effective implementation.
* Lead annual regulatory audits and inspections, coordinate audit preparation activities, partner with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies, address findings, and drive
* Support and enhance occupational health programs, including respiratory protection, ergonomics, indoor air quality, and chemical exposure monitoring.
* Provide leadership and support for Process Safety Management programs, including partnership with element leaders and cross-functional teams.
* Participate in incident investigations, workplace injury and illness assessments, and root cause analysis activities to identify sustainable corrective actions.
* Develop and deliver environmental, health, and safety training programs while supporting risk assessments and employee awareness initiatives.
* Prepare regulatory reports, maintain compliance documentation, develop chemical procedures from Safety Data Sheets, and provide day-to-day guidance on environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
** What Makes You the Right Fit
*** Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, or a related discipline with at least two years of environmental, health, and safety experience.
* Alternatively, a minimum of five years of relevant environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing, operations, or research and development environment.
* Working knowledge of Process Safety Management and environmental, health, and safety management systems.
* Strong understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and safe work practices, including confined space entry, line breaking, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, and occupational safety programs.
