Overview

The Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics e Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead an automated light‑directed DNA synthesis platform used in biomedical research and drug discovery.

• Lead the design, development, and operation of the automated light‑directed DNA synthesis platform.
• Develop and optimize oligonucleotide synthesis protocols for various research applications.
• Integrate microfluidics, optics/photolithography, and microarray technologies into platform workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to execute high‑throughput screening and printing microarray projects, including legacy instrumentation such as Quanterix Microarrayers.
• Maintain and troubleshoot platform hardware and software, ensuring reliability and reproducibility of synthesized oligonucleotides.

• Background in chemical, biomedical, or electrical engineering.
• Experience in optics/photolithography, microfluidics, and microfabrication.
• Knowledge of surface/materials science and microscopy techniques.
• Prior work with microarray and other microfluidic-based screening technologies is desirable.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific area and 10 years of related work experience.
• Master’s degree and 8 years of related experience.
• Ph.D. and 5 years of related experience.

Estimated salary range for the Senior Scientist role: $104,000 – $186,160 per year.
