Senior Scientist- Stewart lab

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments/projects independently under the overall direction of the PI and/or more senior scientist
• Develop new research protocols, techniques, and procedures
• Identify experimental data pertinent to the analysis problem
• Process, organize, and summarize data, reporting experimental results
• Monitor the quality and integrity of recorded information and data
• Ensure data collection and entry methods meet quality standards
• Interpret data as it relates to research problems
• May publish as co-author and/or draft sections of research manuscripts as necessary
• Present research to colleagues within the organization or at external meetings/events
• Provide lab operation support and make recommendations regarding equipment use and maintenance, supplies, etc.
• Troubleshoot instrument and equipment issues
• Provide input into lab operation processes and procedures
• Recommend equipment acquisition and decommissioning
• Regularly train and oversee the work of others in laboratory techniques and procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area is required
• Ten (10) years of relevant work experience is required
• Eight (8) years of relevant work experience is required with a Master's degree
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience is required with a PhD

Compensation: $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Senior Scientist – Stewart lab.
