Senior Scientist- Stewart lab

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments and projects independently under the overall direction of the PI and/or a more senior scientist.
• Develop new research protocols, techniques, and procedures.
• Identify experimental data pertinent to the analysis problem; process, organize, and summarize data, reporting experimental results; monitor the quality and integrity of recorded information and ensure data collection and entry methods meet quality standards; interpret data as it relates to the research problem.
• May publish as co-author and/or draft sections of research manuscripts as necessary; present research to colleagues within the organization or at external meetings or events.
• Provide lab operation support and make recommendations regarding equipment use and maintenance, supplies, etc.; troubleshoot instrument and equipment issues; provide input into lab operation processes and procedures; recommend equipment acquisition and decommissioning.
• Regularly train and oversee the work of others in laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area is required.

• Ten (10) years of relevant work experience is required.
• Eight (8) years of relevant work experience is required with a Master’s degree.
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience is required with a PhD.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 – $186,160 per year for the role of Senior Scientist – Stewart lab.
