Wet Lab Scientist – Ligand Discovery

Join a dedicated research team e Children’s Research Hospital’s QAI4

Bio Lab, focused on developing and experimentally validating ligand/drug discovery projects in epigenetics, cancer and longevity.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead wet‑lab experiments for ligand/drug discovery projects with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Produce high‑quality proteins using bacterial, insect or mammalian expression systems, ensuring quality for functional and structural studies.
  • Design and execute protein‑ligand binding assays (SPR, MST, ITC, BLI, FP, TR‑FRET, or cell‑based assays) and optimize assay conditions for robust, reproducible data.
  • Manage day‑to‑day wet‑lab operations: mentor staff, maintain equipment, monitor reagent inventory and report data.
  • Collaborate closely with the computational team to validate predicted hit and lead compounds, providing experimental feedback.
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, submission and peer‑review processes under PI supervision.
  • Present research findings at conferences and internal meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (minimum 8years of experience), or Master’s degree (minimum 6years), or PhD (minimum 3years).
  • Demonstrated experience in protein expression, purification and biophysical binding assays.
  • Strong understanding of ligand discovery workflows and the ability to troubleshoot complex experiments.
  • Experience or interest in wet‑lab leadership and staff training is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
