A postdoctoral position in Dr. Daniel Blair’s laboratory focuses on leveraging high‑throughput chemical synthesis and MS/MS analysis to create predictive models of chemical reactivity. The role involves designing and executing substrate‑aware reaction condition predictions using rapid tandem mass‑spectrometry methods.
Project OverviewThe project seeks to capitalize on recent advances in rapid tandem mass‑spectrometry for scouting chemical reaction outcomes and connecting chemical structures to optimal reaction conditions. The work builds on St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s high‑throughput chemical synthesis and analysis infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Design and perform high‑throughput experiments to generate data‑rich chemical reaction datasets.
- Analyze MS/MS data and develop predictive models for reaction conditions.
- Collaborate within the Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics and contribute to publications.
- Background in synthetic organic chemistry.
- Experience with automated synthesis or high‑throughput experimentation desirable.
- Strong analytical and computational skills for data analysis and modeling.
- Generalized Analysis of Electrophilic Small Molecules, Chem Rxiv 2026.
- High‑throughput reaction screening using acoustic ejection mass spectrometry, Nature Protocols 2026.
- Direct‑to‑Biology Enabled Molecular Glue Discovery, JACS 2026.
- Continuous Collective Analysis of Chemical Reactions, Nature 2024.
