Postdoctoral Research Associate (Mixed Computational Experimentalist) – Meyer Lab
Location:
Memphis, TN
The Meyer Lab in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences e Children’s Research Hospital is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher with skills in both computational and experimental biology to join our team in reimagining how we discover and deploy drug combinations in the clinic. Our work is highly interdisciplinary, integrating high-throughput screening, computational models, and systems biology to elucidate the mechanisms of drug interactions in complex biological systems, with a particular focus on infectious disease.
Idealcandidates will have:
- A Ph.D. in pharmacology, microbiology, chemical biology, or a related field
- Experience designing, executing, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative experiments, including high-throughput screens.
- Experience with coding software such as Python, R, and Git Hub.
- An ambition to make major contributions to the field of systems pharmacology by driving an independent research project.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented, interdisciplinary environment.
This position offers access to state‑of‑the‑art facilities (e.g., the High Throughput Bioscience Center and an HPC environment with 5.3 PFLOPS of power and 150 PB of storage capacity), a collaborative and supportive research environment, and the opportunity to work on high‑impact problems in human health. St. Jude offers highly competitive postdoctoral salaries (typically 20–25% above NIH guidelines) in a low‑cost‑of‑living city, along with comprehensive benefits and robust support for professional development.
This position is full-time and requires in‑person work at the main campus in Memphis, TN.
Candidates with experience in biofilm biology, quantitative microscopy, and/or evolution of antimicrobial resistance are particularly encouraged to apply. We are seeking highly motivated, creative scientists who are willing to take intellectual risks to shape the future of combination therapy, thereby contributing to the institution’s goal of developing cures for catastrophic childhood diseases.
