Senior Scientist

The Stewart lab in the Oncology Department e is seeking a Senior Scientist to conduct translational preclinical studies using novel therapeutics for pediatric solid tumors. The role will support the principal investigator, oversee a team of technicians using xenograft models, and prioritize therapies for clinical trials in pediatric cancer.

• Conduct experiments and projects independently under the overall direction of the PI or a senior scientist.
• Develop new research protocols, techniques, and procedures.
• Identify experimental data pertinent to the analysis problem, process, organize, and summarize it, and report results while monitoring data quality and integrity.
• Interpret data as it relates to the research problem.
• Publish as co-author and/or draft sections of research manuscripts; present research to colleagues and at external meetings or events.
• Provide lab operation support, recommend equipment use, maintenance, supplies, troubleshoot instruments and equipment, and input into lab operation processes.
• Regularly train and oversee the work of others in laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and institutional goals.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area is required.

• Ten (10) years of relevant work experience is required.
• Eight (8) years of relevant work experience is required with a Master's degree.
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience is required with a PhD.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for the Senior Scientist role in the Stewart lab is $104,000 - $186,160 per year, which may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors.
