Job Summary /Essential Job Functions

The Research Study Coordinator 1 Level 2 serves as a key member of the HABITS (Making Healthy Habits Stick) research team, a multi-site NIH-funded study designed to improve long-term physical activity maintenance among cancer survivors. This position supports the day-to-day implementation of study activities, including participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, data collection, intervention delivery, retention efforts, regulatory compliance, and study tracking. This position works closely with investigators, research staff, peer coaches, and collaborating institutions to ensure high-quality study implementation and adherence to research protocols.

This position supports the day-to-day implementation of study activities, including participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, data collection, intervention delivery, retention efforts, regulatory compliance, and study tracking. This position works closely with investigators, research staff, peer coaches, and collaborating institutions to ensure high-quality study implementation and adherence to research protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Delivers behavioral intervention to study participants as specified in the study protocol, which includes but is not limited to interactive sessions, telephone conversations, emails, and texts.
  • Screens potential participants to determine eligibility; administers appropriate assessments and enters data into the database.
  • Performs regulatory duties, including study record keeping, data quality assurance, consent procedures, adverse event reports, and any additional requirements specified by IRB, FDA, or other authorized regulatory bodies.
  • Documents all adverse events, medication adjustments, and/or protocol deviations reported by study participants using protocol-specific procedures/forms while using good clinical judgment.
  • Develops and initiates retention and recruitment strategies and serves as one of the study participants' primary contacts.
  • Assists with reports, research summaries, and appropriate contributions to patient-directed materials as directed by research and program leadership.
  • Attends protocol-specific research meetings to troubleshoot any potential problems regarding assigned protocol(s).
  • Assists in training and orientation of other study staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or a related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

Experience

One (1) year of related experience; OR Master’s Degree in lieu of experience; OR a combination of education and experience to equal five (5) years.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and in close contact with a study team, clinical providers, patients, academic collaborators, students, families, and community participants.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency with clinical research management and regulatory issues.
  • Comfort with quantitative/qualitative data collection, scientific writing, community-based health research, and public presentation.
  • Must possess impeccable interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Schedule

This position may occasionally be required to work evenings.
