Developmental Neurobiology Department St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital invites applications for a research faculty position at the assistant/associate member rank (equivalent to assistant or associate professor) to join the newly established Center of Excellence in Neuro-Oncology Sciences (CENOS). CENOS aims to address foundational biological questions and drive clinically impactful discoveries to advance knowledge and enhance survival outcomes for children with malignant brain tumors.

Successful applicants will join a cohort of thriving research groups who study childhood brain tumors from complementary angles.

We are seeking an investigator to lead a multidisciplinary research program focused on advancing our understanding of malignant childhood brain tumors through innovative approaches in fundamental biology, neuroscience, neuro-immunology, metabolism, data science, and related disciplines. We welcome candidates with expertise spanning mechanistic and translational research, including the development of human stem cell and organoid models to study mechanisms of tumorigenesis; application of advanced multi-omics technologies to characterize tumor, immune, and metabolic states and discover resistance mechanisms;

deployment of cancer neuroscience strategies to study communication networks that promote and maintain malignancy; investigation of neuro-immune interactions and metabolic dependencies that influence tumor initiation, progression, and therapeutic response; evaluation of novel selective dependencies and the mechanisms governing these vulnerabilities; and application of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other advanced data science methodologies to enhance biological discovery, diagnostics, and treatments for malignant childhood brain tumors.
