Retail Sales Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The role includes working with a wide variety of merchandise such as jewelry, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

• Best working hours in the business: most stores open at 9 AM and close at 6 PM; many stores are closed on Sundays.
• Earned Wage Access program available to all employees on the second day of employment (up to 50 % of wages earned, up to seven times per payroll cycle).
• Unlimited commission above your hourly base rate.
• Paid vacation: one week after 6 months of active full‑time service, an additional week after 1 year, and two weeks on each anniversary thereafter (up to 120 hours after 5 years). Adjusted per state/local requirements.
• Sick/Personal time: 8 hours after 6 months, 16 hours each anniversary thereafter (years 2–5), 24 hours after 5 years. Adjusted per state/local requirements.

• Tuition Reimbursement up to $2,000 per year for full‑time employees who meet program requirements.

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise.
• Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items following established procedures.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully completes the assigned training.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
• Ability to work with firearms and achieve firearms certification.
• May be required to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient with basic math calculations.
• Cash‑handling experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule (includes weekends and holidays).
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2‑8 % commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. More details are provided during the interview process.
