Role Description The Assistant Team Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Memphis, TN, supporting store leadership in daily operations and delivering a positive customer experience. This role helps oversee the sales floor, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked, clearly signed, and attractively presented according to company standards. The Assistant Team Lead guides and supports team members, assists with training, and helps coordinate shifts to maintain strong customer service coverage.
Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging with customers, resolving routine issues, operating the register, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized store environment. This position also assists with inventory tasks, seasonal resets, promotional displays, and contributes to achieving sales and performance goals.
Qualifications
- Customer service and retail sales experience, with strong skills in building positive interactions and supporting a welcoming store environment.
- Team leadership and collaboration abilities, including coordinating tasks, coaching team members, and contributing to a respectful, inclusive workplace.
- Basic store operations skills such as cash handling, point-of-sale systems, opening/closing procedures, and merchandising and visual presentation.
- Organization and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to follow and relay store policies and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work on-site in Memphis, TN, including standing for extended periods, lifting and moving merchandise as needed, and working a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Previous experience in discount, specialty, or big-box retail is beneficial; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
