Setup Crew Team Member

Auto Zone’s Retail Store Setup Crew is the driving force behind the successful launch and transformation of our retail locations nationwide. This hands-on team is responsible for turning empty spaces into fully functional Auto Zone stores through expert merchandising, fixture construction, and collaborative teamwork. Every store they touch reflects the high standards and brand identity that customers expect from Auto Zone.

Role at a Glance

As a Setup Crew Team Member, you’ll be part of a full-time, nationwide traveling team responsible for transforming Auto Zone retail spaces into fully operational stores. This role involves hands-on fixture installation, merchandising, and collaboration with local teams to ensure every store meets our brand’s high standards. It’s ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, have a passion for retail construction, and are excited by the opportunity to travel extensively while making a visible impact.

Travel to construction sites and existing store locations across the country

Install display equipment and merchandise to meet Auto Zone’s high standards

Construct fixtures following prototypical floor plans

Collaborate with and train local Auto Zoners in setup processes and fixture construction

Merchandise new stores and remodel existing ones using detailed planograms

What We’re Looking For

Must be at least 21 years old

Valid driver’s license that meets Auto Zone’s standards

Willing and able to travel extensively—up to six to eight weeks at a time or longer if needed

Ability to lift up to approximately 70 lbs., load and unload trucks, and move fixtures and merchandise

Comfortable with standing for long periods, walking, bending, and maintaining full range of motion

Cooperative and responsible team player with a willingness to take on additional duties

You’ll Go the Extra Mile If You Have

Experience with retail construction, fixture setup, or merchandising

Flexibility and comfort working in different cities and environments

Ability to read and interpret planograms accurately

Strong communication skills for training and collaborating with local teams
