The Sr. Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and optimizing market analytics, channel & account strategies, and pricing & promotional programs that drive profitable sales and market share growth. This role develops a cross-functional vision with both short- and long-term strategic objectives, translating them into executable plans and measurable results. Acting as the liaison between internal Hunter teams and external customers, this role sets market and account strategies, manages processes through execution, and ensures alignment across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Planning and LeadershipHarmonize sales and marketing plans, ensuring budgets align with company objectives.
Develop and execute channel strategies for Mass & National retailers in alignment with the overall strategic roadmap.
Lead cross-functional coordination for customer line review processes with Sales, Finance, Brand, and Product teams.
Partner with Finance, Engineering, and Product to improve channel profitability and competitive positioning.
Define and oversee pricing strategies for new launches, ongoing products, and adjustments over time to ensure market competitiveness and profitability.
Meet with top channel partners to understand their key initiatives, metrics of success, and programming requirements and drive three-year action plans
Establish marketing and sales program with all Mass & National Retail Channel partners to achieve top-line and bottom-line goals
Lead, Develop and Execute an annual promotional calendar to maximize revenue (both in store and online) working cross functionally with Sales, Finance, Brand, Product & E-com Channel Mgr.
Implement processes and best practices to ensure alignment with evolving channel partners’ requirements
Manage best-in-class promotional pricing and price increases across Mass & National Retail Channels to avoid cross-customer conflicts and maximize profits
Assist product team with market research, mix analysis and competitive insight to “win” at each account.
Assist Sales Operations role when necessary
Product Lifecycle PlanningActively manage customers promotional inventories and ad spend
Own Excess & Obsolete process and pricing for Derivatives and identify sales opportunities / channels to effectively sell these products.
Work with Product, Engineering and Sales to ensure new introductions are priced correctly in the market (including at launch as well as price increases / decreases)
Proven Analytic AbilityDevelop reporting tool and establish meeting to disseminate data, findings and learnings for what’s working and what’s not at customer and channel level (promotions, POS, in store sales, market pricing and competitive activities)
Track effectiveness of and communicate sell through and how it is impacted by promotional activities & different merchandising, what drives the highest ROI, competitive activities, etc.
Collaborate with Sales, Product, Industrial Design and Engineering to identify channel gaps and targeted promotional activities
Utilize resources to develop promotions with consumer-friendly feature sets that maximize sales and brand recognition
Assist Sales to ensure proper product content and specifications are developed and in place for promotions and new products
Work with Brand and Design teams to enhance product launch in box and online including driving more brand messaging and content to drive growth
Work with brand to develop and plan channel related portion of advertising and marketing budget
Develop channel specific merchandising and customized marketing collateral when necessary (with assistance from Brand Marketing)
Education/Experience RequirementsBA required. MBA & related Merchant, sales, or channel marketing experience preferred
Prior pricing and/or market analysis experience preferred
Special qualifications or skillsAbility to develop strong relationships with internal and external teams
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to accomplish key goals
Organized with strong time management skills and history of meeting deadlines
Strong business acumen
Willingness to challenge the status quo and continuously raise the bar
Extremely detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary
The incumbent should possess an aggressive approach to all stages of follow-up with customers, both internal and external
Strong administrative skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work cross functionally as part of a team as well as independently
Working and intuitive knowledge of computers with very strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, various SaaS and vendor portal systems
Willingness to travel 30% with overnight travel and possibly of some weekend work required
Ability to work within set budgets
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be comfortable working on a ladder
