The VP of Sales is an integral part of the Company’s leadership team. The VP participates in setting the Company’s strategic direction, development, and growth. It is a highly visible, hands‑on role both internally and externally with significant responsibility for leading national account relationships and driving industry leadership for a market‑leading building products distributor with a $300M+ revenue base and nationwide footprint.
Responsibilities:- Own and cultivate executive-level relationships with major national accounts
- Lead a national accounts and segment sales team responsible for the company's highest-growth business segments
- Serve as a full member of the Executive Team, participating in company‑wide strategy and direction
- Read the industry and identify "what's next". Incubate and grow emerging business segments
- Represent the company with key customers and at national industry trade events
- Recruiting and hiring new sales representatives who can target and convert customers
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or related field or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
Skills and Experience:- 5+ years of senior sales leadership experience in Building Materials at the VP, REGIONAL VP, DIRECTOR of NATIONAL ACCOUNTS or equivalent level
- Proven experience leading national account relationships and managing a $100M+ book
- Executive presence, ready to operate at the executive team level from day one
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire a sales team and oversee development of a diverse group of employees
- Experience in building materials distribution a strong plus
- Travel: 50% - 60%
