Position: Scientist in Protein Technologies Center - Cell Engineering / Molecular Biology

The Protein Technologies Center (PTC) within the Department of Structural Biology e Children’s Research Hospital seeks a Scientist with expertise in saturation‑mutagenesis functional assays, site‑specific integrase‑based stable expression platforms, and genome‑editing technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Engineer cell lines using CRISPR gene‑editing technology for generating gene knockouts and knock‑ins (SNVs, gene tags, etc.) and confirm the edits.
  • Generate stable cell lines using non‑viral and viral‑based delivery systems.
  • Implement advanced technologies to develop stable target‑overexpressed cell lines, pools, clones, and NGS library preparation.
  • Perform molecular cloning (In‑Fusion, LIC, PIPE, Gateway, FX, overlap‑extension PCR, Gibson assembly, Bio Brick, recombineering) and handle large or complex DNA constructs, including combinatorial libraries, site‑directed and saturation mutagenesis.
  • Validate genomic stability throughout clonal line‑generation and provide pivotal, hands‑on support to structural cell biology projects across the department.
Qualifications
  • Minimum education:

    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific area.
  • Minimum experience:

    8years with a Bachelor’s; 6years with a Master’s; 3years with a PhD.
  • Preferred:
    PhD (with at least 5years of post‑doctoral experience) in molecular biology, synthetic biology, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record in molecular cloning, large DNA construct handling, combinatorial libraries, site‑directed and saturation mutagenesis.
