The Opportunity
The Memphis Grizzlies are looking for Lead Security Officers to assist in overseeing the Fed Ex Forum’s security personnel, CCTV and Access Control systems. You will assist in the supervision of 24/7 security for the arena as well as event-related security. Serve as a law enforcement and emergency response liaison. Review, approve, and disseminate situation, daily, or other pertinent reports. We are seeking qualified supervisors to join our team across two shifts—first and second shifts available.
This Role You Will
- Assist Supervisory Security Officer in managing day to day security operations.
- Manage restricted event spaces (ex. loading docks).
- Provide coverage in the absence of the primary dispatch officer.
- Provide coverage in the absence of the shift supervisor.
- Execute emergency response planning in situationally dependent circumstances.
- Manage threat monitoring (ex. weather, social media, and open-source data).
- Serve as primary law enforcement liaison during non-event days.
- Oversee the deployment and redeployment of security personnel and assets.
- Develop and manage post orders.
- Review and approve significant incident reports.
- Oversee officer patrols, screenings, and Operations Center activities.
- Schedule and manage employee work shifts.
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Manage CCTV and access control systems.
- Work odd hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 2-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience in law enforcement, security, military or related field.
- Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective critical thinking skills.
- Must be able to observe situations and make appropriate responses.
- Working knowledge of enforcement policies and procedures.
- No disqualifying criminal history.
- Must be able to meet minimum requirements for the license eligibility for the TN State Private Protective Services.
- Must be capable of renewing license under the TN State Private Protective Services every 2 years.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Prior law enforcement experience preferred.
- Prior knowledge of access controls preferred.
- Physical, personnel security experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
- Working knowledge of magnetometers and X-rays.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
