LD Security Officer | North Hospital | Night Shift

Overview

Security Officer Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delegating security activities at the assigned location or shift. Ensures safety and security for associates, patients, and visitors. Models appropriate behavior aligned with MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.

• Patrol hospital, parking, and/or assigned area to ensure safety and security for associates, patients, and visitors.
• Plan, coordinate, control, and delegate shift activities and operations under direction of the Lieutenant.
• Lead associates on assigned shift(s).
• Investigate theft and other crimes.
• Assist supervisor/director in data collection.
• Maintain unit productivity records.
• Maintain appearance and equipment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Security or law enforcement experience 1‑3 years.

• Security Guard – Unarmed – Tennessee – Department of Commerce and Insurance.
• Class D Driver License – Tennessee – Motor Vehicle Knowledge.

Knowledge of security operations in a multi‑facility organization is preferred. Knowledge of security and criminal investigation methods commensurate with experience/education.

• Ability to carry out assigned duties with integrity and honesty.
• Skill in applying appropriate behavior when greeting and assisting members of the public.
• Ability to understand and prepare written materials at a moderate level, such as incident reports, commensurate with education/experience.
• Ability to communicate verbally with associates and visitors.
• Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and maintain control of workflow.
• Ability to maintain working relationships with coworkers.

Provides instruction to other security officers and direction in the absence of the supervisor.

May include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Requires exertion up to 100 lbs occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs frequently. Requires close visual acuity for data analysis, computer use, and general observation.
