Security Officer Lead

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delegating security activities at the assigned location or shift, ensuring safety and security for Associates, patients, and visitors to the hospital.

• Patrol the hospital, parking, and other assigned areas to maintain safety and security.
• Plan, coordinate, control, and delegate shift activities and operations under direction of the Lieutenant.
• Lead Associates on assigned shift(s).
• Investigate theft and other crimes.
• Assist Supervisor/Director with data collection.
• Maintain unit productivity records.
• Maintain appearance and equipment.

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.

• 1-3 years of security or law enforcement experience.

• Security Guard – Unarmed – Tennessee (Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance).
• Class D Driver License – Tennessee (Tennessee Motor Vehicle).

• Knowledge of security operations in a multi‑facility organization (preferred).
• Knowledge of security and criminal investigation methods and operations commensurate with experience and education.
• Integrity and honesty in carrying out duties.
• Appropriate behavior when greeting and assisting members of the public.
• Ability to prepare written materials such as Incident Reports at a moderate level.
• Effective verbal communication with Associates and visitors.
• Independent judgment and ability to work without close supervision.
• Organize multiple tasks and maintain work flow control.
• Maintain working relationships with coworkers.

• Provide instruction to other Security Officers and guidance in the absence of the Supervisor.

• Climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, repetitive motion.
• Ability to exert up to 100 lbs occasionally and up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Good balance, coordination, close visual acuity for data preparation, reading, and monitoring.
