Electrician

Electrician has the knowledge of the operation and installation of a wide range of electrical systems (480 volts and below) and equipment such as series, parallel and compound circuits for single and multiple phase alternating current of varying voltages, amperages; and power or regulating and control circuits and distribution panels to hospital equipment, control equipment, surgical and laboratory equipment and other related electrical equipment at this medical center.

Incumbent has the knowledge of the operation and installation of a wide range of electrical systems (480 volts and below) and equipment such as series, parallel and compound circuits for single and multiple phase alternating current of varying voltages, amperages and frequencies; wiring systems in hospital buildings; and power or regulating and control circuits and distribution panels to hospital equipment, control equipment, computers, surgical and laboratory equipment and other related electrical equipment at this medical center.

Other major duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Perform installation, maintenance, and/or repair, modify, maintain, troubleshoot, test and verify loads on new and existing electrical lines, circuits, system and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.

* Work on wide range of voltages, (480 volts and below) amperage, phases, and frequency requirements, to distribution panels, switch gear, power and control circuits, Environmental Management Service equipment, Food and Nutrition Service equipment, automatic transfer switches, emergency generators, hospital beds, lighting systems.

* Incumbent determines and installs distribution panels, boxes, fittings, and connections and install wiring, coupling, conduit, relays, fixtures, transformers and other electrical devices.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm, 7:00AM - 3:30PM, 7:30AM - 4:00PM

Physical Requirements:

Incumbent makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, platforms and other hard to reach places. Incumbent is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Incumbent frequently lifts and carries tools, equipment and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds and less often, up to 40 pounds. Occasionally incumbent will lift or move with assistance, moderately heavy object weighing more than 40 pounds.
