Day shift with overtime, on-call, and emergency coverage

ProfessionalSummary:
A Junior Mechanic for electric motors position is for someone looking to learn and grow their career as a professional electric motor mechanic. This role starts with assisting mechanics with non-technical tasks and provides training and mentorship to support growth into a full electric motor mechanic. Alongside non-technical tasks, you will be mentored and trained by mechanics to diagnose, dismantle, repair, and reassemble AC/DC motors, pumps, and gearboxes under supervision.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:- Perform some or all the following activities related to AC/DC motors and related electrical equipment.
- Assist in repairing and maintaining AC/DC motors and related equipment.
- Support preventive maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
- Learn to disassemble, clean, and reassemble motors under expert guidance.
- Help maintain accurate service records and inventory tracking.
- Participate in on-the-job training
- Inventory, stocking and complete deliveries with a company vehicle
- Cleaning- to include power washing
- Sandblasting
- Painting- half face respirators required on some projects.
- Operational support
- Follow safety protocols and company standards at all times.

- Mechanical aptitude, and the want to learn more about mechanical motors
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus).
- Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge is a plus—we’ll train you
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to use hand tools and willingness to learn diagnostic equipment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a team-player attitude.
- Valid driver’s license/good driving record
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds independently
- Active Workshop Setting
- Busy, hands on environment with continuous movement of vehicles, parts, and equipment. - Use of Heavy Lifting Equipment
- Cranes, hoists, etc. as needed
- Requires awareness of load limits, proper rigging, and clear communication with coworkers during lifts.
- Precision and Fabrication Tools
- Lathes and machining equipment used for shaping or resurfacing metal components as needed.
- Work involves close attention to measurement accuracy, tool alignment, and safe machining practices.
- Painting and Finishing Areas
- Paint sprayers and finishing tools are used for touch ups or refinishing of repaired vehicle sections.
- Hand Tools and Power Tools
- Frequent use of wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, pneumatic tools, grinders, impact tools, and diagnostic devices.
- Workstations are typically organized but may be fast paced with various tools in use throughout the day.
- Noise, Smells, and Physical Demands
- Exposure to noise, compressed air bursts, machinery operation, and occasional loud impacts.
- Odors from fuels, lubricants, paints, and solvents are common but usually controlled with ventilation.
- Frequent bending, lifting, etc. as needed.
- Safety Focused Environment
- Required use of PPE such as gloves, Safety toe boots with metatarsal covering, safety glasses, hearing protection in designated areas, and respirators for painting.
- Safety procedures include proper handling of chemicals, lockout/tagout practices, and awareness of moving vehicles and machinery.
- Collaborative, Multitask Atmosphere
- Environment requires clear communication, teamwork, and the ability to shift between tasks as priorities change.
- Hand tools are necessary to perform the job. After completing an introductory period, a tool allowance is supplied for approved equipment.
