Field Service Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Field Service Technician with expertise in low voltage installation and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have field experience and a technical background to effectively manage, install, and maintain tolling equipment and related ITS systems.
Responsibilities
* Work independently or with a team on installations, modifications, and repairs of tolling equipment and related ITS systems at various sites in the region.
* Read Toll System schematics and drawings, equipment manuals, and design plans.
* Install, upgrade, modify, replace, and maintain equipment as directed or required.
* Perform a continuous preventative maintenance program according to schedule.
* Conduct reactive maintenance and repair as needed.
* Receive and check inventory.
* Monitor automatic trouble reporting system to ensure timely problem resolution in accordance with guidelines.
* Monitor repairs for timely completion and submit approval documents to appropriate purchasing personnel for payment.
* Respond to and correct trouble reports.
* Test toll collection and ITS systems through physical inspection and electronic test and measurement equipment procedures.
* Monitor, maintain, and perform diagnosis of equipment problems with lane control servers, PLC, computers, printers, traffic signals, gates, IR beams, light curtains, message signs, scanners, sensors, cameras, vehicle loop detection equipment, automatic vehicle , antennas, RF sources, video cameras, switchers, multiplexers, media converters, monitors, frame grabbers, and other industry-related equipment.
Essential Skills
* Hardware installation and troubleshooting expertise.
* Proficiency in AC/DC electronics and electrical systems.
* Communication equipment handling skills.
* 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
* Minimum of a 2-year Technical degree in Electronics Engineering; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
* Previous experience in installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting of electronic and electrical equipment.
* Working knowledge of computers, basic networking skills, Linux and Windows operating systems, with proficiency in Office Suite.
* Experience utilizing multimeters, fiber termination kits, hand tools, communication cable termination, and test equipment.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
* Experience with RF, microwave, electronics, and AC circuitry is a plus.
Work Environment
The candidate will maintain, install, and administer Toll and ITS components in support of various projects. This position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work independently with little supervision, and occasional work on weekends, nights, and on-call shifts. Fieldwork is 100% of the time, and the dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans, and sweatshirts. The territory mainly covers the downtown Memphis area, with occasional travel to Arkansas or Northern Mississippi.
A company truck will be provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
