Job Responsibilities- Assist with the installation of materials
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, grinding, or applying primers as directed
- Load, unload, and stage materials and equipment at designated work areas
- Support caulking operations by handling backer rod, sealant tubes, and bulk caulk guns
- Mix waterproofing products using drills and paddles, following instructions from foremen or journeymen
- Set up and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and other access equipment safely
- Maintain a clean and organized job site, disposing of debris and cleaning tools as needed
- Follow safety protocols when working with solvents, adhesives, and other hazardous materials
- Assist with damming and containment when applying self-leveling products
- Skilled in using drills, mixing paddles, spatula knives, and other waterproofing tools
- Comfortable operating access equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stages, scaffolds, ladders, bosun’s chairs, and bucket trucks
- Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures using solvent-based products (toluene, xylene) and associated safety precautions
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and job site protocols
- Trained in fall protection, PPE usage, and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Ability to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in varied weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high‑quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with foremen, crew members, and other trades
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency in installation
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Prior construction or waterproofing experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors and experienced crew members
- Reliable, punctual, and safety‑conscious
- Ability to travel frequently between job sites, including overnight and same‑day trips
- Works effectively with crew members, foremen, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow
- Supports a positive team environment by being respectful, dependable, and solution‑oriented
- Communicates job site needs, progress, and issues clearly and professionally to supervisors and peers
- Listens actively and follows verbal and written instructions with precision
- Demonstrates patience and professionalism when working under pressure or in challenging conditions
- Takes ownership of assigned tasks and communicates proactively about progress or obstacles
- Responds quickly to changing site conditions, schedule adjustments, or task reassignments
- Opens to feedback and willing to adjust methods to align with team goals or supervisor direction
- Basic proficiency with mobile apps or software used for HR, time tracking, expense tracking, reporting, and job site documentation
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read and use a tape measure
- Ability to read blueprints
Additional safety or trade certifications is a plus
Physical Demands Regular Physical Activities- Walking and standing for extended periods on uneven terrain and active job sites
- Climbing ladders, scaffolding, or accessing elevated areas for application and/or inspections
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to apply and/or observe installations
- Using hands and fingers to handle tools, documents, and equipment
- Communicating clearly in noisy environments, often requiring raised voice or hearing protection
- Frequently required to lift and/or move materials or equipment up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
- May occasionally assist with or oversee tasks involving heavier loads with team support or mechanical assistance
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
- Presence around construction related hazards such as moving machinery, airborne particles, and caustic materials
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and respirators
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
