Education and Experience:
Experience equivalent to three years of full‑time increasingly skilled labor and trade work, including at least two years in building maintenance work.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain a clean driving record for the past five years, with no record of driving under the influence, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than four moving violations.

OverviewUnder general supervision, performs semi‑skilled and skilled building maintenance work of average difficulty and related tasks as required. The incumbent performs a variety of tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and general mechanical repair work.
Responsibilities- Identify maintenance issues, repair or resolve them, or report them to appropriate personnel.
- Operate and utilize a variety of tools and equipment such as hand and power tools, plungers, sewer rodders, drills, skill saws, and grinders. Provide direction and oversight to others as needed.
- Inspect devices such as electrical systems, basic plumbing, mechanical systems (HVAC, laundry, and food service equipment), remove and replace defective parts to determine necessary repairs, and perform routine repairs on standard work equipment.
- Rewire electrical outlets and breaker boxes; perform routine electrical tasks; repair windows, doors, flooring, woodwork, drywall or other parts of building structures; perform basic carpentry tasks and minor HVAC repair; and perform minor construction, plumbing, landscaping, janitorial, and basic welding tasks.
- Review preventative maintenance plans to perform routine preventive maintenance, ensuring equipment runs smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate. Perform daily walk‑through inspections of facilities to ensure proper working conditions.
- Communicate with outside vendors and customers to provide basic customer service and direct persons to appropriate solutions and answers.
- Provide expert advice to members and agency SLB coordinators regarding the payment and application process, and input regarding sub‑processes in determining and maintaining files for process improvements.
- May operate a state‑issued pick‑up truck, golf cart, watercraft, or other vehicle.
