What You Will Do
- Under general supervision, conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through direct on‑site customer interface.
- Mentor peers on mechanical HVAC installation and service activities.
- Properly complete required project and service documentation.
- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items; act as a trusted advisor to deliver solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Perform routine service and inspections, regardless of size or location of the HVAC mechanical equipment, including:
- Change and service filters.
- Oiling and greasing.
- Adjust or replace belts.
- Clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes and perform general housekeeping.
- Operate mechanical systems under contract with the customer.
- Clean and conduct routine maintenance of solar energy equipment.
- Carry out indoor air quality work, including duct systems and drain pans.
- May be a member or willing to join the local union, Vocational School four‑year program, or hold an associate degree in mechanical systems, air conditioning or a similar field.
- Have 1+ year of industry experience or experience servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Possess general knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally to customers and external contacts.
- Be able to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people.
- Show leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
Hourly rate: $24.88 (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and market data). This position includes a competitive benefits package.
