Job Description
Diagnose, repair, adjust, or maintain any industrial manufacturing machinery, such as sheet metal machines, engines, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Electrical:
- Safely measure voltage, current and power in AC and DC circuits.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot controls and electrical faults on machinery.
- Do basic wiring and understand wire gauges.
- Basic knowledge of NEC/UL codes.
- Use a computer and diagnostic software to diagnose electrical and automation problems.
- Mechanical:
- Align, install, and maintain belt drives and pulleys; chain and sprocket drives; shaft assemblies; pillow block bearings; various couplings.
- Install and replace motors.
- Understand air and water systems.
- Pneumatic:
- Align, install, maintain pneumatic lines/hoses.
- Adjust and regulate pressures.
- Check operation of water separator/drain in a pneumatic system, as necessary.
- Diagnose and repair compressors and vacuum pumps.
- Plumbing:
- Basic pipe fitting knowledge (understand pipe sizes, fittings, thread types, etc.).
- Use a pipe threader.
- Hydraulic:
- Understand fluid contamination prevention processes and procedures.
- Install, repair, and maintain pumps, hoses, valves, cylinders, filters, regulators, and seals.
- Welding:
- Basic knowledge of metal materials, welding rods, and welding procedures.
- Recognize and use proper safety equipment for welding.
- Recognize MIG and TIG welding equipment.
- Other:
- Must conduct all work on premises.
- Work regularly in a dusty factory environment subject to extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Work well with others in a team environment to problem‑solve and provide backup as needed.
- Work at heights exceeding 3 ft.
Minimum of high school diploma or GED plus certification in any of the skilled maintenance trades. At least 1‑3 years of basic mechanical experience. Basic understanding of computers including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn preventive maintenance software for scheduling and monitoring equipment. Hands‑on experience with all types of equipment controls and basic NESC, UL/ETL knowledge (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.).
Current material handling certification, Lock Out/Tag Out, Lifting & Rigging, preventive or predictive maintenance or any journeyman/trades licensing is preferred.

Vo‑Tech certificate in any of the skilled maintenance trades (e.g., Electrical, Millwright, Plumber/Pipefitter, HVAC, Welder, Sheet Metal)
- Perform all tasks on‑site.
- Ensure a safe work environment by following applicable safety policies.
- Work consistently in a dusty factory setting, experiencing extreme temperatures.
- Collaborate efficiently in a team for effective problem‑solving and backup support.
- Work at elevated heights exceeding 3 ft. when necessary.
- Lift weights up to 50 pounds.
