Responsibilities- Installation, commissioning, diagnosis, repair, and start‑up of HVAC systems, applying knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls, and mechanical layouts.
- Planning, analysis, and timely completion of assigned projects and activities.
- Use of hand tools and interpretation of construction drawings, plans and specifications to mount, hang, fit, and install equipment and systems.
- Ensuring compliance with internal contracting processes and performing site surveys, replacements, modifications and start‑ups as needed.
- Preparing for on‑site installation by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on‑site work and other trades.
- Maintaining assigned inventory, company equipment and documenting all related activities, including parts, material, labor and cost data per assignment.
- Providing training and follow‑up training at customer sites and generating sales leads for appropriate personnel.
- Documenting work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, duration, and maintaining files.
- Providing technical support to customers on assigned projects, serving as the direct point of contact, and ensuring customer satisfaction through identification, analysis, diagnosis and repair of equipment and systems.
- Keeping current on Trane product installations, especially of direct digital control systems.
- Inspecting and maintaining vehicles, records of service manuals, scheduling of repairs and maintenance, and inspecting tools and equipment for wear.
- Enforcing safety to the highest standards and maintaining security and accountability of company issued and procured assets.
- Meeting regular travel requirements with occasional overnight stays and working overtime or weekends as the business requires.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Typically 2–5 years of experience in commercial HVAC installation.
- Technical school or formal training preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computer (Smartphone, iPad).
- State Contractor Licenses (HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations (including DUI, hit & run, license suspension, reckless or careless driving, or multiple minor infractions within the last three years).
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
