As the Lineman I, II, III
, you will ultimately be responsible for constructing, maintaining, repairing, and restoring aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure. You will perform line construction, maintenance, emergency restoration, and system upgrades while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering specifications, company standards, and customer requirements. As the Lineman I, II, III, your customers are Congruex construction teams, project managers, utility partners, and clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through quality workmanship, operational excellence, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities (Including, But Not Limited To)
  • Repair and maintain aerial and underground telecommunications systems, including cable strand replacement, pole transfers, down-guys, aerial-to-underground conversions, wire replacement, substructure repairs, and emergency restoration
  • Read and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and construction plans to accurately complete assigned work
  • Perform construction activities including digging, setting poles and anchors, pulling and installing cable, placing underground conduit, and operating aerial and underground construction equipment
  • Operate compressors, pumps, hydraulic diggers, aerial lifts, and other construction equipment while performing telecommunications installation and maintenance
  • Perform testing, inspections, cable connections, hardware installation, manhole inspections, and removal of damaged telecommunications infrastructure
  • Respond to emergency outages and hazardous situations while ensuring the safety of employees, customers, and the general public
  • Complete daily production reports, as-built documentation, and other required project records accurately and on time
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and industry best practices
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs
Required Qualifications Education, Licensing, and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • DOT Medical Card
Experience
  • Experience performing aerial and underground telecommunications line construction
  • Experience operating construction equipment and working with telecommunications infrastructure
  • Experience working in outdoor construction environments
Skills And Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of telecommunications line construction methods, materials, tools, and safety practices
  • Ability to identify wire and cable color codes accurately
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, specifications, and construction documentation
  • Knowledge of First Aid procedures and CPR
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to measurements, drilling, pole sizing, material quantities, and equipment installation
  • Ability to work safely in confined spaces, at elevated heights, on poles, ladders, and hydraulic lift buckets
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency response situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting fiber optic or broadband construction projects
  • Cross-training in additional telecommunications construction disciplines such as Splicing or Equipment Operations
  • OSHA 30 Certification (preferred for Lineman III)
