Job Purpose:

The Welding Apprentice at Morgan Steel LLC will assist experienced welders in performing welding tasks while gaining hands‑on experience and developing skills in various welding techniques. The role is designed to provide foundational training in welding and metal fabrication, ensuring that the apprentice becomes proficient in executing welding projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • - Assist lead welders in preparing materials and work spaces for welding tasks.
  • - Learn and apply different welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, under supervision.
  • - Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • - Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • - Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance welding skills and knowledge.
  • - Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timelines.
  • - Conduct quality checks on completed welds to ensure they meet company standards.
  • - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • - Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • - Assist in inventory management of welding supplies and materials.
Qualifications Required

Education:
  • - High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
  • - Basic understanding of welding techniques and processes
  • - Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred but not required

  • - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
