Overview

Must be mechanically inclined. Prefer experience in all phases of semi-trailer repairs such as brakes, electrical, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications work. Experience in DOT inspections, welding, tire maintenance (new and repair), and mounting/dismounting is valued.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on trailing equipment in compliance with manufacturers and company schedules.
  • Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance (including inspecting and working in, on or under parts of trailers).
  • Safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces, including outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs frequently and greater than 75 lbs occasionally).
  • Move safely and perform the required motions (reach above head, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, kneel) as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, safety and compliance.
  • Work in accordance with DOT, EPA, interstate Authority, OSHA and other applicable rules and regulations.
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
  • Follow company policy and procedures in making all repairs.
  • Participate in company training programs and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain prompt, daily attendance at the assigned work location.
  • General trailer repair and knowledge.
  • Welding: basic skills in Oxy/Acetylene, ARC and MIG are desired.
  • Must have a clean MVR and be able to pass drug tests and DOT physical.
Qualifications
  • Experience in automotive or trailer repair preferred (1 year, plus).
  • Previous or current ASE certifications desired, not required.
  • Basic welding skills including Oxy/Acetylene, ARC and MIG are desirable.
  • Good safety mindset and ability to comply with DOT and OSHA standards.
